Welcome 2008 Order of the Arrow Candidates

Congratulations to all 2008 Candidates on being nominated by your troop for membership into Boy Scouting’s Honorary Fraternity, the Order of the Arrow. Your induction into the membership of the Order of the Arrow requires that you complete an Ordeal weekend at one of the Lodge’s three upcoming Inductions Weekends – September 5-7, 2008 (Woodfield Scout Preservation); October 3-5, 2008 (Cherokee Scout Reservation); and March 27-29, 2009 (Cherokee Scout Reservation).

The first step to complete your ordeal weekend is to pre-register for an Induction Weekend. To Learn more about the OA and to begin your registration process click here.

ArrowCorp5

Our Lodge contingent starts their week at ArrowCorps5 at the Bridger-Teton National Forest (Jackson, Wyoming) this week (July 26 - Aug 2).  You can follow our contingent’s daily activities by visiting our news section. Follow our Lodge contingent in this once in a lifetime event.

ArrowCorps5 is a once in a lifetime program. The event is the largest volunteer service effort ever undertaken by the Boy Scouts of America. A Scout’s duty to country calls us all to help preserve the beauty of treasures like national forests. This adventure will be the largest BSA conservation project ever!

We would like to thank all of the brothers who attended the 2008 Cardinal Conclave at Camp Bowers. It was an awesome conclave with over 200 brothers representing Lodge 70!

Friday night started out with Tsoiotsi Tsogalii singing and yelling with plaid vests and wooden axes as we made our way to the evening campfire.  That evening Tsali Lodge #134, whose dance team won the national group dance compeptition at the 2006 National Order of the Arrow Convention, performed for the contingent.

Throughout Saturday Arrowmen took advantage of events such as OAxperience, Ceremonies, Drum, Singing, & Dance Competition, patch trading, and all around good fellowship.  Then in the afternoon Quest Events started followed by Section Elections.  Later that evening, all the dancers from the Section performed for the contingent; then awards and a Broken Arrow Ceremony for fallen Arrowmen was given.

Sunday morning Tsoiotsi Tsogalii #70 was presented the infamous Spirit Award for the first time ever!  We also were awarded the first place Communication Award.   Make sure to partake next year at Camp Tuscarora for the fun and fellowship!!
