My name is Anderson Burgess, and I am currently serving our lodge as the 2012 Conclave Chairman. We, as a Lodge, will be hosting Conclave at our camp, Cherokee Scout Reservation, this coming year. Conclave is the time of the year when the six lodges of our section meet together for the weekend of fellowship and activities. There is expected to be around 1400 arrowmen from across our state and section gathered for this terrific event. No matter your interest there is sure to be something for you. Conclave provides opportunities in leadership, competition, Indian affairs, and personal growth. Indian affairs will be heavily active with events in areas drum, dance, and ceremonies. The Order of the Arrow Experience known as OAX has grown to have exhibitors from the local area as well as across the state displaying, sharing, and demonstrating in their areas of expertise. These aspects and all others will be sure to please. I am inviting all of you to attend conclave, and I hope to see you there.
There are a couple of options for you when it comes to attending. As we are hosting Conclave we will need a large number of staff members to set up and run the events of the weekend. There is a lengthy list of committees that will play in to the overall weekend I encourage all of you to look over these and apply to be a conclave staff member. In addition to working behind the scenes, putting together and running conclave you will still have the chance to enjoy many of the aspects as well. I truly hope you work with us on staff to provide the section with an outstanding conclave. However, if you can’t or don’t feel you want to serve on staff you may attend as a delegate and enjoy conclave in that way.
