Grayson Cardwell

Lodge Chief

Lodge Chief Grayson Cardwell is a former eagle scout from troop 566 and has served as an Aquatics Instructor at Cherokee Scout Reservation for 3 years. He is a senior at Dalton McMichael high school, where he is a member of the Varsity Golf team and STEM program, as well as Student Government, having been elected Class President numerous times. He has a passion for serving others, and being helpful wherever he can. Grayson is eager to provide all new members with remarkable experiences, as well as implementing new strategies to expand our lodge.

Alli Houck

Lodge Vice Chief of Program

Vice Chief of Program Alli Houck is a Life Scout in Troop 6051 and served as 2023-24 NYLT Staff. She is a Junior at Greater Vision Academy, where she plays softball, volleyball, and competes in cheer. Alli loves giving her time to scouting and is looking forward to bettering our program. She is eager to implement a program team to better involve her fellow scouts.

Robert McGrew

Lodge Vice Chief of Communications

Vice Chief of Communications Robert McGrew is an Eagle Scout in Troop 575. He is a Senior at Davie High School and enjoys playing trombone in the marching band. Robert loves to help others and to serve his community wherever possible. He is excited to help other scouts communicate and find their place in the order.

Mason Williams

Lodge Vice Chief of Administration

Vice Chief of Administration Mason Williams is a Life Scout in Troop 20 and has served on Staff at Cherokee Scout Reservation in 2023. Mason is a sophomore at Ledford Senior High School and an Explorer Sergeant with the High Point Police Department. He enjoys participating in community events and plans to help make the membership process as smooth as possible for new and returning members.

Michael Rose

Lodge Vice Chief of Service

The Vice Chief of Service is Michael Rose, an Eagle Scout from Troop 103. He is someone who will help wherever, whenever and will do it with a smile and a joke. A Sophomore at Weaver Academy and a nominee for Eagle Scout Service Project of the Year, Michael is ready and able to take care of things and get down to business.

Keegan McArdle

Lodge Vice Chief of Inductions Ceremonies Elections (ICE)

Vice Chief of American Indian Affairs Keegan McArdle is a Life Scout from Troop 4001 who has served 2 Years on Staff at Cherokee Scout Reservation. He is a Junior at Eastern Alamance High School and enjoys playing Sousaphone in their marching band. Keegan also loves to compete Chicken Dance for Lodge 70 and looks forward to increasing the amount of ceremonial awareness in the lodge.

Cameron Moore

Lodge Vice Chief of American Indian Affairs (AIA)

Vice Chief of AIA Cameron Moore is a Life scout from Troop 540. Cameron is a Sophomore at Dalton McMicheal High School and he enjoys attending and competing at Native American Powwows. Cameron is looking forward to involving AIA more at the Unit level while making AIA more inclusive and accessible to all.

Rusty

Rusty Gray

Lodge Adviser

Rusty is an Assistant Scoutmaster with Troop 4566 in Stoneville, NC.  He is the Lead EMT for Cone Health's CareLink Mobile Critical Care Transport Team.  He has been employed with Cone Health for 20 years.  Scouting planted the seed of volunteerism that lead him to serve the Madison-Rockingham Rescue Squad as Chief for 17 years and as member for 25 years.   He has served Saura Chapter as Chapter Adviser for several years.  Rusty has served as a Health Officer for Lodge and Council events, was a NYLT staff member and current Wood Badge staff member for 2022.  He is currently on the Council Camping Committee and serves as Co-Chair for the Cherokee District Committee.  As a youth Rusty was very active in Scouting and now enjoys Scouting as an adult with his son.  As a young person obtained the rank of Eagle Scout in Troop 4566, worked on Camp Staff at Cherokee Scout Reservation, was a Chapter Chief, Lodge Vice Chief and ceremonialist.  He was awarded the Vigil Honor in 1992. Rusty is humbled and excited to serve as Lodge Adviser.  He believes that the Scouting program and the Order of the Arrow offers America's youth timeless values, leadership development, outdoor skills, and a since of service beyond self.

Bud Harrelson

Lodge Staff Adviser

Bud is the Director of Cherokee Scout Reservation and Strategic Initiatives, and has been involved with Scouting for many years in multiple roles. Prior to becoming a professional Scouter, Bud was active as a youth and adult volunteer. He served as lodge chief of Tsalagi Lodge and SR-7 section chief. As an adult, he served as our lodge’s associate adviser for service before serving as the SR-7B section adviser. Bud served on multiple national committees, including the national Order of the Arrow committee. He also has a background in education at the school and district level. He was awarded the Vigil Honor in 1993 and the National Distinguished Service Award in 1998. Bud (and his dog Brody) look forward to supporting the lodge chief and lodge adviser in their goals, and guiding Tsoiotsi Tsogalii into a bright future with a strong program.
